Women’s Golf Wins Carleton Invitational, Drenttel Claims Medalist Honors Posted on April 26th, 2010 by

The Gustavus women’s golf team rallied in the final round with a tournament record 313 to win the Carleton Invitational with a 36-hole total of 326-313–639.  The Gusties bested third-ranked UW-Eau Claire, which posted a total of 322-325–647.  Taylor Drenttel claimed medalist honors for the second time in three tournaments this spring posting a 36-hole total of 76-77-153. The Gusties’ final round and 36-hole total are both tournament records, as is Drenttel’s first round of 76 and her 36-hole total of 153.

Three Gustavus golfers finished in the top six individually including Drenttel who finished first, Katie Schenfeld who finished fourth at 80-79–159, and Ann Jackson, who finished sixth at 85-76–161.  Other scores for Gusties included Kali Griggs, who placed 13th at 85-81–166, and Rikka Holiday, who finished 41st with a total of 95-86–181.  Amanda Woodhull, who competed as an individual placed 24th with a total of 84-88–172.
