Jordan Stolp Named MIAC Offensive Player of the Week

Gustavus Adolphus College sophomore quarterback Jordan Stolp (Mankato, Minn.) threw five touchdown passes and ran for another to help the Gusties defeat Augsburg 42-27. Stolp’s efforts earned him Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference offensive player of the week honors.

Gustavus Adolphus College sophomore quarterback Jordan Stolp (Mankato, Minn.) threw five touchdown passes and ran for another to help the Gusties defeat Augsburg 42-27 in St. Peter, Minn. Stolp, completed 20-of-38 passes for 252 yards with no interceptions. His touchdown passes were for 5, 8, 24, 26, and 41 yards. In addition to being a part of all six Gustie touchdowns, Stolp also converted six point after attempts which meant that he played a part in all 42 points the team scored on Saturday. Four of Stolp’s big plays came at critical points in the game. He scored the Gusties first touchdown on a quarterback sneak from the one yard line on a fourth-and-one situation. He later threw the 41-yard TD pass on a 3rd-and-7 situation, the 8-yard TD pass on a 3rd-and-5 from the 8-yard line and the 24-yard TD pass on a 3rd-and-9 late in the fourth quarter for the final score. Gustavus is now 1-5 overall and 1-3 in the MIAC.

Stats: Rushing- 7 carries for 21 yards and one touchdown. Passing- 20-of-38 for 252 yards and 5 touchdowns with no interceptions. Scoring- 6-for-6 on point after attempts.
