The Gusties were defeated 2-0 by St. Thomas on Tuesday afternoon in St. Peter. Senior forward Christine Williams opened the scoring for the Tommies with a goal at 19:31. An assist was credited to Abagail Krause. St. Thomas extended its lead to 2-0 on an unassisted goal by senior midfielder Jessica Magnuson 15 minutes into the second half. St. Thomas improves to 6-7 overall, and 4-3 in the MIAC, while Gustavus falls to 4-9 overall, and 1-6 in the MIAC.

St. Thomas outshot the Gusties in the match 18-9, and held a 4-1 advantage in corner kicks. St. Thomas goalkeeper Dana Vilar recorded four saves and registered her third shutout of the season. Gustavus goalkeeper Tori Boughton made ten saves in a losing effort.

The Gusties suffered their sixth consecutive shutout loss in league play. It was also the fourth consecutive time the Tommies have defeated Gustavus in St. Peter. St. Thomas leads the all-time series 12-10-2.

The Gusties will travel to St. Paul to play the College of St. Catherine on Saturday at 1 p.m. St. Thomas returns home to play St. Olaf on Saturday.
