Gustavus and Carleton each finished with 4-0 records at the 2005 Gustavus Volleyball Classic. After defeating Viterbo and Martin Luther on Friday, the Gusties returned Saturday to knock off Cornell, 3-1, and Northwestern, 3-0, to finish the weekend undefeated. Carleton defeated Martin Luther and Cornell on Friday night and went on to dispatch Northwestern and Viterbo on Saturday to also end the weekend undefeated.

Northwestern started the weekend 2-0 with wins over Viterbo and Cornell, but Saturday losses to Carleton and Gustavus dropped their record to 2-2. Cornell and Martin Luther each finshed 1-3 overall, while Viterbo was held out of the win column.
