Women’s Golf Wins Cobber Open, Kimbra Kosak Ties for First Individually Posted on September 9th, 2005 by

Moorhead, Minn.– Gustavus shot a total team score of 327 to claim the championship of the Cobber Open on Friday at Wildflower Golf Course in Detroit Lakes, Minn. The Gusties were paced by Kimbra Kosak who tied for medalist honors with an 80. St. Ben’s senior golfer Kelly Kosak also fired an 80 to tie for the top individual spot.

Gustavus had four of its top five players finish in the top 15 of the meet. Breanne Staples had an 81 and finished in a tie for third and Kelli Groff and Alana Reetz both shot an 83 to finish in a tie for sixth.

Gustavus will continue its weekend Moorhead by taking part in the Concordia Invitational on Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 10-11 at the Wildflower Golf Course in Detroit Lakes. The Invitational features 17 different schools and some of the best competition from NCAA Division II, III and NAIA programs in the area.
