Men’s Track & Field Claims Eight Event Titles at Lee Krough Invite

The Gustavus men’s track and field team claimed eight event titles at the fifth annual Lee Krough Invitational on Saturday, April 16. Freshman Jared Hokenson won the high jump with a height of 6′ 8″, which tied a 40-year old school record.

The Gustavus men’s track and field team hosted the fifth annual Lee Krough Invitational on Saturday, April 16. No team scores were kept at the meet. The Gusties won seven individual events and one relay event at the invite.

Sophomore Jared Hokenson (Watertown, Minn.) won the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 57.72 and won the high jump with a height of 6′ 8″, which ties a 40-year old school record. Junior Jack Henkemeyer (Plymouth, Minn.) also won two events. The junior won the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.23 and the 200-meter dash with a time of 22.66.

Other winners were freshman Ben Treichel (Webster, Wis.) in the 400-meter dash (50.72), sophomore Tanner Miest (New London, Minn.) in the 110-meter hurdles (15.81) and senior Alex Kestly (Chisholm, Minn.) in the discus throw (45.04).

Gustavus’ 4×400-meter relay team recorded a time of 3:21.65 to place first out of ten teams in the relay race.

Gustavus will be back in action on Saturday, April 23 at the Carleton Invitational in Northfield, Minn.
