Women’s Swimming Set for NCAA Championships

A quartet of Gustavus women’s swimmers are set to compete at the NCAA Championships this week at the Greensboro Aquatic Center in Greensboro, N.C.

SAINT PETER, Minn. – A quartet of Gustavus women’s swimmers are set to compete at the NCAA Championships this week at the Greensboro Aquatic Center in Greensboro, N.C. The national meet runs Wednesday through Saturday.

The 200 free relay team of Ellen Hofstede (Sr., St. Paul), Marit Isaacson (So., St. Paul), Lucy Peterson (Jr., St. Paul), and Abby Yartz (Sr., Bemidji) will race in the trials at 10 a.m. Thursday. They hold a seed time of 1:33.83 and are ranked 11th. The relay team will also compete in the 200 medley trials during the 10 a.m. session Wednesday where they hold a time of 1:44.12 and are ranked 22nd.

Hofstede and Peterson will also race the 50 free, where they rank 23rd and 37th with seed times of 23.46 and 23.60, respectively. The 50 free trials are during the 10 a.m. session Wednesday. Hofstede is also slated to race the 100 butterfly at 10 a.m. Thursday, holding the 36th seed time of 56.50, and the 100 free at 10 a.m. Saturday with the 30th seed time of 51.44.

The four Gusties will conclude the championship meet by competing in the 400 free relay during the 10 a.m. session Saturday, holding the 23rd seed time in 3:29.06. The finals sessions each day begin at 6 p.m.
