NORTHFIELD, Minn. – The Gustavus men’s and women’s track & field teams on Friday competed at the St. Olaf Quadrangular against Bethel, Saint Mary’s, and St. Olaf.

Megan Geraets continued to impress early in her first collegiate indoor season by taking first in the long jump (5.23 meters) and second in the 400-meter (1:02.22). Madi Kes cleared 11.20 meters in the triple jump to win the event. Annika Poe took second overall and first among collegiate competitors in the shot put with a throw of 13.55 meters.

Birgen Nelson was the only runner to go sub-8.0 in the 60-meter with a winning time of 7.97. Elizabeth Donnelly also impressed in the 400-meter with the only sub-minute time at 59.62. Iliana Ramon won the 3000-meter in 10:40.04 and Danielle Miller took first in the 60-hurdles in 9.64.

In the men’s field events, Danny Bies won the high jump with a leap of 1.90 meters and Isaiah Subah cleared 6.65 meters in the long jump to take first.

In distance races, Tucker Wallin won the mile with a time of 4:24.77 and Henry Hinchcliffe took first in the 3000-meter in 8:52.31.

The Gustie men had a number of second place finishes, including David Peal in the 60-meter (7.22), Agro Gushwa in the 400-meter (54.53), Tyler Smith in the 600-meter (1:24.52), Jack Degonda in the 800-meter (2:01.34) and mile (4:26.95), and Bryce Knutson in the 3000-meter (8:54.99). The 4×200 relay team of Dominic Flentje, Michael Broad, Ababio Serebour, and Jack Wiessenberger also took second in 1:39.51.

A small contingent of Gusties will compete Saturday at the University of Minnesota’s Jack Johnson Classic.
