SAINT PETER, Minn. – The Gustavus women’s soccer team Sunday afternoon lost 3-1 to UW-Eau Claire in the final non-conference game of the season. The Gusties drop to 7-8 overall and the Blugolds improve to 7-7-2.
UW-Eau Claire tallied its first goal in the 15th minute and added another in the final minute of the half for a 2-0 lead at the break.
Elin Swenson (Fy., Uppsala, Swenden) ended the shutout in the 76th minute with an unassisted goal, her second of the season, but the Blugolds added an insurance score with less than five minutes remaining in regulation.
The Gusties outshot the Blugolds 12-7. Leah Pavlish (Sr., Prior Lake) suffered the loss in goal after making three saves.
Gustavus returns to MIAC play at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, playing host to Bethel.
