Howey-in-the-Hills, Fla. – The Gustavus men’s golf team finished its closing rounds at the NCAA DIII Preview and placed 13th out of 24 teams. Max Ullan (Sr., Blaine) tied in 12th out of 122 golfers in the tournament carding 68-75-73-216.
“We had a better and more consistent round today after a tough outing yesterday,” said Coach Randall Stuckey “I liked the way that the guys bounced back a bit today and they really did put in maximum effort. We were able to move up one spot which was one of our goals. We’re very proud of the 12th individual place by Max Ullan who played at even par for the rounds, for some exceptional golf. We’ll have to continue to work on our games to prepare for the Twin Cities classic this weekend. Another three days of tough golf, but it’s something that we’re looking forward to.”
Wyatt Wasko (Jr., Lake Elmo) finished 43rd, scoring 74-72-77-223. Jacob Pedersen (Sr., Minnetonka) closed the weekend shooting 74-77-74-225 tying in 59th. Khrystjan Pedersen (Jr., Faribault) had final scores of 77-84-73-234 and Carter Czichotzki (Moorhead, Sr.) carded 83-81-84-248.
The Gusties are next in action when they travel to the Twin Cities Classic on Saturday.
