HASTINGS, Minn. – The Gustavus women’s golf team wrapped up the second and final round of the Division III Classic on Sunday at Emerald Greens Golf Course, finishing in a tie for third place. The Gusties carded a 317-316-633 (+57), which was eight strokes behind the winner Bethel. Bethel’s second team took second at 629, while Carleton and St. Catherine tied with the Gusties for third.

Emily Kratz (Sr., Edina) led the Gusties with a card of 77-75-152 (+8), taking fourth place out of 115 golfers. Erin Ericson (Sr., Onalaska, Wis.) tied for 12th with a 76-82-158; Laurel Ward (Jr., Bozeman, Mt.) tied for 30th at 81-81-162; and Sydney Regalado (Sr., Rosemount) tied for 38th at 85-78-163.

Ana Schwarz and Brynn Sundquist of Bethel shared medalist honors with scores of 147 (+3).

“Even though our score today was only one shot better than yesterday, conditions were much more difficult with the strong winds, so I thought we battled well today,” Head Coach Scott Moe said. “Emily had a strong tourney again. Pleased with how everybody competed, every weekend we are seeing strong competition and a tie for third is another good showing. Looking forward to our division two tournament next weekend in Marshall, should be a really good field. Excited for a week of good practice.”

Gustavus next competes at Southwest Minnesota State on Saturday and Sunday.
