SAINT PETER, Minn. – The Gustavus gymnastics team hosted UW-Oshkosh for Senior Day Saturday and lost in the WIAC dual. The Gusties scored a 178.850 while the Titan tallied 186.525.
Gustavus scored 46.550 on vault, 45.825 on floor, 44.050 on beam, and 42.525 on bars.
“It was a great day today celebrating our seniors,” Head Coach Aryn DeGrood said. “We had a big improvement on our team score from last week. Today was a team effort and that’s exactly what we want to see. The pieces of the puzzle are there and we look forward to seeing it all come together next week.”
Annie Corbett (Fy., Brookfield, Wis.) returned to the lineup for the Gusties and took first in the all-around with a 37.600. The Brookfield, Wis. native took first place in both the bars and beam, with scores of 9.425 and 9.625, respectively, while rounding out her score with a 9.425 in the vault and 9.125 on the floor. Leah Heilig (Sr., Forest Lake) had a solid day as well for the Gusties, taking fourth in the floor with a 9.350, while scoring a 9.325 on vault. Emma Esteb (Fy., Woodbury) also pitched in good scores, with a 9.275 on beam to take fourth, while her 9.225 on the floor put her in sixth.
The Gusties are next in action when they’ll compete at the WIAC Championships at UW-Eau Claire next Saturday.
