BROOKINGS, S.D. – The Gustavus men’s and women’s track and field team sent a handful of runners to Brookings, S.D. to compete in the SDSU Indoor Classic Friday and Saturday with the Gusties finishing up competition Saturday. The Gustavus men finished 15th of 26 teams, while the women took ninth of 22.

“We had kids win some heats and had some kids place in finals which is awesome,” said assistant coach Brenden Huber. “DeAnna [Giles] and Xander [DuMoulin] both placed in the triple jump and Katie [Keelin] placed in the weight throw which was awesome to see. To go to a big Division I meet and have kids placing in finals and winning heats is phenomenal. Sara Moen broke school record in 600 and both 4 x 400 ran really well. I’m leaving out a ton of kids who did great for us, but overall we just had a fantastic weekend.
