GREENWOOD, Ind. – The 2019 College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Google Cloud Academic All-District Men’s Soccer Teams are released and Gustavus senior Will Richards (Sr., Hudson, Wis.) and junior Trace Dobson (Jr., Sioux Falls, S.D.) were named to the 12-member District 6 Team, which features student-athletes from institutions in Michigan, Minnesota, and Wisconsin. The Google Cloud Academic All-District Teams recognize the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances athletically and in the classroom.

Will Richards

Richards, a Biology major, holds a 3.73 GPA and helped the men’s soccer program record its record 16th Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference championship this season. A defender for the Gusties, the Hudson, Wis. native has contributed to one of the top offenses in the country with a goal and three assists, while being part of a defense that has allowed just 18 goals in 19 contests thus far.

Dobson, a Public Accounting major, boasts a 4.00 GPA and has played in every contest this season for the Black and Gold. The midfielder played a big role in one of the biggest wins to date for Gustavus, scoring the game-winner in the team’s victory over St. Thomas on Sept. 18, the Tommies only conference loss of the season. In his 19 games, Dobson has scored a pair of goals, as well as an assist.

The Gusties will play in the MIAC Championship tomorrow when they host St. Thomas for a 1 p.m. contest.

Trace Dobson
