ROME, Ga. – Ginger Valentine concluded play at the ITA Cup on Friday, defeating Nina Mitrofanova of Southwestern (Texas) 6-3, 2-6, 6-4. Valentine finishes the fall season 7-3 overall.
“Ginger definitely saved the best for last,” Assistant Coach Heidi Carlson said. “She played her best tennis of this season so far, let alone this tournament. Her opponent this morning was a big hitter and Ginger played smart and focused, countering a lot of heavy balls to keep herself in the point. She waited for opportunities to be offensive and played absolutely fantastic doing it. I’m so proud of her.”
