BLOOMINGTON, Minn. – Jacob Pedersen (Fy., Minnetonka, Minn.) was named the MIAC men’s golf Player of the Year and Freshman of the Year as voted on my the MIAC coaches, while Ben Hauge (Jr., Ramsey, Minn.) and Max Ullan (So., Blaine, Minn.) were both named All-Conference.
In Pedersen’s first collegiate year, the Minnetonka native competed in 24 rounds, posting a scoring average of 73.6. The first-year had nine rounds below par, with four top ten finishes and two top five finishes. Pedersen left a mark on his campaign in the fall at the MIAC Championships, posting three rounds below par (70 – 69 – 71 – 210) to shoot -6 and win medalist honors at the event. Pedersen won MIAC Player of the Week accolades on Oct. 9, 2018, for his performance at the MIAC Championships
Hauge receives his second All-Conference nod for the Black and Gold, as the junior posted a scoring average of 74.1 this season. Hauge found himself near the top of the leaderboard often, finishing in the top five a team-high five times. His best finish came in the Bobby Krig Invite when he posted a 147 (+5) in two rounds to tie for second place. Hauge recently won MIAC Player of the Week honors on May 7. The Ramsey native was also named to the All-Sportsmanship team.
Making his first All-Conference appearance, Ullan posted a scoring average of 75.4 this season. Ullan posted three top 10 finishes, two top five finishes as well as one first place finish, when he tied for first at the SJU Fall Invite with a 144 (E). For his performance at the SJU Fall Invite Ullan was awarded with a MIAC Player of the Week nod on Oct. 2, 2018.
