Men’s and Women’s Swim and Dive Victorious on Senior Night

SAINT PETER, Minn. – The Gustavus men’s and women’s swim and dive teams celebrated Senior Night with convincing wins over Hamline. The men won by a tally of 120-69 while the women won 125-56.

“I’m very pleased with how we swam tonight,” said head coach Jon Carlson. The swimmers and divers keep getting better and better and dropping times despite training very hard. Looking forward to tomorrow’s meet and the rest of the season.”

Both teams saw a large number of first place finishes:

MEN

  • 1000 yard freestyle (10:28.43) – Ryan Kawleski
  • 200 yard freestyle (1:43.91) – Nolan Larson
  • 50 yard freestyle (22.02) – Will Clark
  • 200 yard IM (2:01.09) – Tanner Sonnek
  • One meter diving (278.10) – Jonathan Bovee
  • 100 yard butterfly (52.33) – Larson
  • 100 yard freestyle (48.43) – Josh Muntifering
  • 500 yard freestyle (4:46.27) – Zach Dawson
  • 200 yard medley relay (1:38.89)

WOMEN

  • 1000 yard freestyle (11:48.77) – Marietta Johns
  • 200 yard freestyle (2:00.71) – Alyssa Lokensgard
  • 50 yard freestyle (24.78) – Maggie Webster
  • 200 yard IM (2:15.23) – Haley Pesik
  • One meter dive (237.00) – Sophia Steinberg
  • 100 yard butterfly (1:01.33) – Michelle Simms
  • 100 yard freestyle (54.27) – Lokensgard
  • 200 yard medley relay (1:53.06)

The teams will be in action tomorrow where the swimmers will be at Saint John’s at 1 p.m. while the divers will be in Saint Peter at 10 a.m.
