Men’s and Women’s Swim and Dive Defeat Carleton

NORTHFIELD, Minn. – The Gustavus men’s and women’s swim and dive teams traveled to Carleton on Friday afternoon and both teams brought home a victory. The men won by a score of 207-82 while the women won 208-91.

“It was a great night of swimming and the team was excited to get back to the pool after a month off,” Head Coach Jon Carlson said. “They stepped up time and time again and swam outstanding.” 

The Gustie men saw 14 winners:

  • 1000 yard freestyle (10:15.19) – Zach Dawson
  • 200 yard freestyle (1:47.78) – Dutch Franko Dynes
  • 100 yard backstroke (56.30) – Josh Muntifering
  • 100 yard breaststroke (58.95) – Tanner Sonnek
  • 200 yard butterfly (1:57.54) – Nolan Larson
  • 50 yard freestyle (22.22) – Matt Allison
  • One meter dive (261.00) – Logan Bican
  • 100 yard freestyle (48.37) – Larson
  • 200 yard backstroke (2:02.56) – Josh Muntifering
  • 200 yard breaststroke (2:08.88) – Sonnek
  • 500 yard freestyle (5:02.32) – Mack Christianson
  • 100 yard butterfly (52.93) – Larson
  • Three meter dive (262.80) – Jonathan Bovee
  • 200 yard medley relay (1:39.02)

The women’s team also had 14 winners:

  • 1000 yard freestyle (11:19.48) – Haley Pesik 
  • 200 yard freestyle (1:59.16) – Maggie Webster
  • 100 yard backstroke (1:02.95) – Amelia Bjorklund
  • 100 yard breaststroke (1:08.54) – Hailey Auran
  • 50 yard freestyle (24.57) – Webster
  • One meter dive (221.35) – Sophia Steinberg
  • 100 yard freestyle (53.94) – Webster
  • 200 yard backstroke (2:17.07) – Bjorklund
  • 200 yard breaststroke (2:31.43) – Auran
  • 500 yard freestyle (5:33.10) – Allie Mayfield 
  • 100 yard butterfly (1:01.57) – Michelle Simms
  • 200 yard IM (2:21.16) – Auran
  • 200 yard medley relay (1:51.25)
  • 200 yard freestyle relay (1:41.22)

The Gusties will next be in action on Friday and Saturday when they travel to UW-Stevens Point.
