BLOOMINGTON, Minn. – For his performance in the Grinnell Invite this weekend, Tanner Sonnek (Sr., North Mankato, Minn.) has been named MIAC Men’s Swimming and Diving Athlete of the Week. Sonnek participated in nine events this weekend and came away with seven victories, four of which were individual wins. In the 100 yard breaststroke, Sonnek beat 41 other competitors, winning by nearly five seconds, while in the 200 yard breaststroke he bested the other 28 competitors by over 11 seconds. Sonnek’s time in the 100 breaststroke ranks 10th in the nation on the season. He also won the 100 and 200 yard IM and was a member of three winning relay teams.
