Women’s Hockey Set to Host St. Scholastica Tuesday Posted on November 19th, 2018 by

SAINT PETER, Minn. – The Gustavus women’s hockey team will host non-conference foe St. Scholastica for a 7 p.m. contest Tuesday night. The Gusties enter the contest 4-1-1 overall with a 3-1-0 MIAC record while the Saints are 5-2-1 overall and 4-2 in the NCHA.

Scouting the Gusties

Last weekend the Gusties split with the No. 4 ranked Hamline losing in overtime 3-2 on Friday before taking an overtime match 2-1 on Saturday afternoon. In the win, the Gusties got a goal in the second period from Lilia Scheid (Fy., Stillwater, Minn.), her team-leading third of the season, before Stephanie Anderson (Fy., Blaine, Minn.) deflected a Sydney Henrichs (So., Eden Prairie, Minn.) shot in overtime for her first collegiate goal and the Gustie victory. Amanda DiNella (Sr., Oakbrook Terrace, Ill.) has been solid in net all season for the Gusties totaling 165 saves while allowing just eight goals for a save percentage of .954.

Scouting the Saints

The Saints most recently dropped a pair of contests to No. 6 Adrian college over the weekend by scores of 4-3 and 5-3. The Saints have six players with three or more goals on the season with Rachel Anderson leading the team with three goals and 10 assists. Alexia Klaas and Taylor Thompson help propel the Saints attack scoring nine and eight points on the season respectively. Lexi Thomeczek has started six games in net making 185 saves while allowing 11 goals for a save percentage of .944.
