Men’s Hockey Falls 4-1 at UW-Stout

The Gustavus men’s hockey team lost to UW-Stout 4-1 on Saturday night, dropping to 2-3-1 on the season.

MENOMONIE, Wis. – The Gustavus men’s hockey team lost to UW-Stout 4-1 on Saturday night, dropping to 2-3-1 on the season.

Caleb Anderson (So., Sioux Falls, S.D.) scored the Gusties’ lone goal of the game with 2:42 remaining in the game. Evan Erickson (Sr., Woodbury, Minn.) and Colton Schmidt (Sr., Eden Prairie, Minn.) assisted on the play.

The Blue Devils scored a pair of goals in the second period within two minutes of each other. They then tacked on two more in the third.

Chris Amdsen (Sr., St. Peter, Minn.) made 31 saves in a complete game effort. The Gusties were outshot 35-20 and went 0-3 on the power play, while killing off 5-of-6 penalties.

Gustavus returns to MIAC play next weekend with a home-home series against Hamline. Friday’s game is in St. Paul at 7 p.m.
