Women’s Soccer Drops Tough One to St. Olaf

The Gustavus women's soccer team was back in action on Wednesday and dropped a hard fought contest to the Oles of St. Olaf by a score of 2-1.

Laurich Scores Game-Winner with Time Winding Down, Men’s Soccer Blanks St. Olaf 1-0

With less than three minutes remaining in Tuesday’s MIAC men’s soccer match between Gustavus and St. Olaf, Luke Laurich (Jr., Batavia, Ill.) played the role of hero, knocking home the game-winning goal as the Gusties went on to defeat the Oles 1-0. The victory moves the Gusties to 6-1-1 overall and 3-0-1 in the MIAC, which keeps them on top of the conference standings with 10 points.

Women’s Golf Finishes Day One of Division III Preview

The Gustavus women's golf team traveled to Houston, Tex. for the Division III Preview and they currently sit in ninth place after day one.

Valentine Wins ITA Midwest Singles Title, Becomes All-American

For the second consecutive season, the Gustavus women’s tennis team has produced the singles champion at the ITA Midwest Regional Championships. On Monday morning, Ginger Valentine (So., Delano, Minn.) defeated Ali Kopiecki of Hamline 6-0, 6-4 to earn All-America status. Valentine joins teammate Bri Hartmann as ITA Midwest Region singles champions as Hartmann achieved the feat last year. Valentine is the 42nd All-American in program history.

Becki Staley was one of the most prominent female distance runners in the country in the '90s, so prominent in fact, that there is a sculpture of her at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colo.
