ST. LOUIS, Mo. – The spring opener for the Gustavus women’s golf team is pushed back a week as the Washington University-St. Louis Invite scheduled for Saturday and Sunday has been cancelled. The Gusties will now begin the spring season April 14-15 in Normal, Ill. at the Illinois Wesleyan Invitational.
Gustavus last competed at the MIAC Championships back in early October where it placed fifth out of 10 teams. The Gusties carded a 330-316-329-975, led by McKenzie Swenson’s (Sr., Buffalo, Minn.) 13th place finish. Swenson tallied a three-round total of 240, including a second round 73, marking a career best and tied for the seventh lowest round in program history.
After the Illinois Wesleyan Invite on April 14-15, the Gusties will round out the spring season April 21-22 at the Bethel Royal Match in Victoria, Minn. and then April 28-29 at the Carleton Invitational in Northfield, Minn.
