Men’s Tennis Tops UW-Whitewater 8-1

After a slim one-point loss to a Division I team Saturday, the No. 10-ranked Gustavus men’s tennis team rebounded Sunday with a decisive 8-1 win over No. 40-ranked UW-Whitewater. The Gusties’ lone loss came in doubles play as they swept in singles to improve to 10-5 overall.

Baseball Splits With Luther College

The Gustavus baseball team turned in a Saturday split with a 7-5 victory and 5-4 loss against Luther College, moving its overall record to 5-4 on the season.

Men’s Tennis Drops Slim 4-3 Decision At Division I UW-Green Bay

The No. 10 ranked Gustavus men’s tennis team dropped a close 4-3 decision at Division I UW-Green Bay on Saturday afternoon, moving to 9-5 overall on the season. The Gusties claimed two of three doubles matches, but those counted for only one team point as Division I awards just one point for doubles. UW-Green Bay then won four of six singles to claim the slim victory.

Women’s Tennis Earns Two Wins In Illinois

The Gustavus women’s tennis team earned two non-conference victories on Saturday, defeating Augustana College 8-1 and the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater 5-4 to improve its record to 5-5 overall on the season.

Hensch And Rooney Earn All-America Honors At NCAA Indoor Championships

The Gustavus men's track & field team was represented well at the 2018 NCAA Division III Indoor Championships this weekend from the Birmingham CrossPlex on the campus of Birmingham Southern College, as Michael Hensch (Jr., North Branch, Minn.) and Taylor Rooney (Fy., Andover, Minn.) were both honored as All-Americans.

Gusties Upset In Triple OT, Set Record For Longest NCAA Division III Women’s Hockey Tourney Game

The 2018 NCAA Division III Women’s Ice Hockey Championship could not have started with a more exciting opening round game Friday as Gustavus and UW-Eau Claire played into triple overtime, marking the longest game in NCAA Division III women’s hockey tournament history. Even after being out-shot 60-29, UW-Eau Claire came out on top with a goal 1:02 into the third overtime period, upsetting the host Gusties in a game that lasted four hours.

No. 3 Thomas More Holds Off Women’s Hoops 75-67 In NCAA Sweet 16 Matchup

The Gustavus women's basketball team had its hot start hampered by the No. 3-ranked Thomas More College Friday at Hope College in a NCAA Tournament Sweet Sixteen matchup, as the Saints held on to defeat the Golden Gusties 75-67.

Gustavus To Host Opening Round Of NCAA Division III Women’s Ice Hockey Championship

The Gustavus women’s hockey team was awarded an at-large bid to the NCAA Division III Women’s Ice Hockey Championship and was also selected to host the opening and first round games Friday and Saturday night. Friday’s game features Gustavus (20-3-4) and UW-Eau Claire (18-6-4) with the winner facing Hamline (20-4-3) on Saturday. Both games will be played at Don Roberts Ice Rink, starting at 7 p.m.

Scheid Honored With MIAC Elite 22 Award

The Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) announced its winter sport Elite 22 Award winners Wednesday afternoon and Paulina Scheid (So., Stillwater, Minn.) has been named the conference’s recipient of the honor for women’s hockey.

Women’s Hoops Set For Sweet Sixteen Matchup Versus Thomas More

The Gustavus women’s basketball team is set to take on No. 3-ranked Thomas More College in the round of 16 at the NCAA Championships at 4:30 p.m. Friday. The four-team sectional round is hosted by Hope College in Holland, Mich. Hope will host Christopher Newport University at 6:30 p.m. Friday and the winners will face each other at 6 p.m. Saturday, with the winner advancing to the Final Four in Rochester, Minn. on March 16-17.
