Women’s Tennis Earns Two Wins In Illinois Posted on March 10th, 2018 by

ROCK ISLAND, Ill. – The Gustavus women’s tennis team earned two non-conference victories on Saturday, defeating Augustana College 8-1 and the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater 5-4 to improve its record to 5-5 overall on the season.

“It was a great day for the whole team,” said Head Coach Jon Carlson. “I think having everyone on the trip made a big difference.”

“It doesn’t get any better than having a freshman (Valentine) clinch the match with a tie-breaker in the third,” Carlson commented. “I am very proud of this team and continue the excitement continues to grow for the rest of the season.”

Next up, the Gusties will take on conference foe St. Olaf College on Friday in Owatonna, Minn.
