INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) on Monday morning announced the nine-team field for its Division III Women’s Hockey Championship and Gustavus (20-3-4) is selected to host UW-Eau Claire (18-6-4) in the first round on Friday, March 9 at Don Roberts Ice Rink. The winner will face Hamline on Saturday in St. Peter, Minn. Both games will start at 7 p.m.

Gustavus is making its second consecutive trip to the NCAA Championship after claiming third place last year with a 3-1 win over Norwich. This year’s national tourney berth is the 13th in program history for the Gusties, where they hold a 10-16 record. UW-Eau Claire is making its first NCAA tournament appearance in program history after defeating UW-River Falls 3-2 in the WIAC championship.
