Friday’s game in Winona, Minn. begins at 7 p.m. and Saturday’s game in St. Peter starts at 2 p.m. The Gusties enter the weekend series 12-2-3 overall and 6-2-2 in the MIAC, while the Cardinals are 7-9-1 overall and 4-5-1 in the league.

GAME NOTES

Last time out: The Gusties tied and won in a series against Augsburg last weekend. Friday’s game in Minneapolis ended in a 1-1 overtime draw, while Saturday’s game in St. Peter ended 3-1 in favor of the home team. Kristen Cash scored the lone goal in Friday’s draw and Amanda DiNella made 24 saves. Amelia Vosen scored two goals on Saturday and Diana Draayer added an insurance goal. DiNella made 28 saves in the win.

Gustie leaders: The trio of Kaitlyn Klein, Diana Draayer, and Erica Power have led the Gusties all season long on the scoresheet. Klein’s 16 goals ranks second in the MIAC and her 26 points are fourth most. Draayer and Power both have 20 points. Draayer has 12 goals and eight assists, while Power has six goals and a team-leading 14 assists, which is tied for third in the league. The three Gusties are the first trio to each have at least 20 points since the 2014-15 season when Power, Carolyn Draayer, and Alison Eder-Zdechlik each scored over 20 points.

Last time they met: Last season the Gusties swept the Cardinals in the regular season series 2-0 in St. Peter and 4-0 in Winona. Kaitlyn Klein and Erica Power scored goals in Friday’s win, while Allie Lewis, Tegan Rodriguez, Marina Chapman, and Diana Draayer found the back of the net in Saturday’s win. Amanda DiNella recorded both shutout victories with a total of 15 saves.
