ST. PETER, Minn. – The No. 4-ranked Gustavus women’s hockey returns home to Don Roberts Ice Rink on Friday for the first time since Dec. 6, taking on No. 8-ranked St. Thomas for a home-home series. Friday’s game starts at 7 p.m., while Saturday’s game in Mendota Heights, Minn. begins at 2 p.m. The Gusties enter the conference series on a seven-game winning streak at 10-1-1 overall and 5-1 in the MIAC, while the Tommies are 8-3-2 overall and 4-1-1 in the league.

Last time out: The Gusties swept a non-conference away series at St. Norbert College last weekend, winning both games 3-0. Kristen Cash scored her first career game-winning goal in Friday’s victory, while Kaitlyn Klein and Laura Johnson added insurance goals. In Saturday’s win, Erica Power scored what proved the be the game-winner, and Klein added a pair of goals for a three-goal weekend. Amanda DiNella earned the win on Friday, while Lauren Tremblay recorded her first career win on Saturday after playing 20 minutes in goal.
First line success: The first line consisting of Kaitlyn Klein, Erica Power, and Diana Draayer leads the team in scoring. Klein leads the team with 12 goals and 18 points, Power has a team-high 10 assists along with 15 points, and Draayer has 14 points on seven goals and seven assists. The first line has accumulated 47 points, accounting for over half of the team’s scoring (50.5 percent).
