“I thought we came out strong and had a good balance with high percentage shots,” Head Coach Laurie Kelly said. “We played better team basketball tonight, continued to force turnovers, and allowed our defense to trigger our offense.”

Gustavus jumped out to a 6-0 lead to start the game and never trailed. The Gusties led 20-12 after the first quarter and increased their lead to 36-23 at halftime. The visitors continued to add to their advantage in the second half, leading by as many as 27 points.

Gustavus shot 50.9 percent and limited to Knights to 32.6 percent. Miranda Rice (Sr., Forest Lake, Minn.) led the team with 17 points on 7-of-12 shooting from the floor. Justine Lee (Jr., Dawson, Minn.) and Kendall Thompson (Jr., Eden Prairie, Minn.) added 10 points apiece.

“Any time you get a road win in the MIAC, that’s a good win,” Kelly said. “I’m really proud of the team’s effort tonight and we’re looking forward to playing at home Saturday against another quality conference opponent.”

Gustavus returns home Saturday for a 3 p.m. MIAC contest against Concordia.
