Women’s Golf Sits In Second After Day One Of Bethel Royal Match Posted on April 22nd, 2017 by

VICTORIA, Minn. – The Gustavus women’s golf team shot a team score of 313 to finish in second place in round one of Bethel’s Royal Match Saturday afternoon at Deer Run Golf Club.

Carleton College turned in a team score of 302 to sit in first after day one.

“The girls shot a solid round one today,” said Head Coach Scott Moe. “We played a consistent round and hit some good shots to put ourselves in a good position for round two.”

Mae Meierhenry (Sr., Sioux Falls, S.D.) and McKenzie Swenson (Jr., Buffalo, Minn.) fired team-low scores of 77 to lead the Gusties. 

Kristen Cash (Fy., Roseville, Minn.) – 78

Mallory Drenttel (Sr., Inver Grove Heights, Minn.) – 81

Jessica Nelson (Jr., Plymouth, Minn.) – 84

The final round begins tomorrow with an 8 a.m. shotgun start.
