NORTHFIELD, Minn. – The No. 16-ranked Gustavus men’s tennis team returned to Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference action Saturday afternoon, sweeping the previously undefeated in league play Carleton College.

The Gusties remain unbeaten at 8-0 during MIAC play and improve its overall record to 21-8 while handing the Knights their first loss during MIAC competition.

“The guys competed well today,” said Head Coach Tommy Valentini. “Carleton is a talented team and we were able to show some good toughness and trust in the doubles and we carried it over into a strong performance in the singles. Our guys worked well with their individual game plans and patterns and competed with poise. I was pleased with how we focused on what was within our control throughout the match.”
