RIVER FALLS, Wis. – The Gustavus men’s hockey team lost 4-1 at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls on Saturday, dropping to 1-10-4 on the season.

The Falcons took a 2-0 lead in the first period, scoring at the 10:36 and 12:11 marks, and maintained the two-goal advantage into the second frame. At the 10:21 mark of the second, Jake Bushey (Jr., Duluth, Minn.) tallied his third goal of the season and team-leading 11th point, assisted by Alex Koopmeiners (Sr., St. Cloud, Minn.). River Falls answered 1:37 later, though, and then added an empty net goal late in the game for the 4-1 decision.

Isaak Tjaden (Jr., Northfield, Minn.) saw his first action of the season between the pipes, taking the loss after making 28 saves. The Falcons outshot the Gusties 32-23 and went 1-for-1 on the power play. Gustavus was 0-5 on the man advantage.

Gustavus now reenters Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play for the rest of the season, beginning with a home-away series against St. Olaf on Friday and Saturday.
