ST. PETER, Minn. – The Gustavus women’s hockey team is set to begin the second half of the 2016-17 campaign Saturday afternoon, hosting St. Norbert College for a non-conference matchup.

The Gusties (6-5-1, 3-2-1 MIAC) host the Green Knights (3-7-1, 2-5-1 NCHA) at Don Roberts Ice Rink in St. Peter, Minn. at 2 p.m. Saturday.

Last Time Out: Gustavus was most recently swept in a series with No. 3 ranked University of Wisconsin-River Falls, falling 3-0 in River Falls, Wis. and 4-1 in St. Peter. The Gusties were shut out for the second time this season in the series opener and allowed the most goals in a game (4) in the series finale.

Series Snapshot: Saturday’s game marks just the second all-time meeting between the Gustavus and St. Norbert women’s hockey programs. Gustavus owns a 1-0 record over St. Norbert. The teams first met at Don Roberts Ice Rink on Nov. 5, 2011 with the Gusties coming away with a 8-1 victory.

About the Green Knights: St. Nortbert College has begun the 2016-17 campaign with a 3-7-1 overall record, while going 2-5-1 thus far in Northern Collegiate Hockey Association matchups. The Green Knights most recently lost 4-3 at Marian University Dec. 7. Through 11 games this season, St. Norbert has averaged 1.91 goals per game. Junior forward Reaghan Chadwick leads the Green Knights with four goals and three assists on the season. Junior goaltender Leigh Grall leads ranks among the top netminders in the NCHA, ranking second with a .929 save percentage and fourth with a 1.88 goals against average.

Gustavus Notables:

– Gustavus allowed a season-high four goals against the University of Wisconsin-River Falls Dec. 10 at Don Roberts Ice Rink.

Marina Chapman (So., South Haven, Minn.) scored her first goal of the season vs. UWRiver Falls, the Gusties’ only goal of the series.

Paige Press (So., Cottage Grove, Minn.) earned her first start of the season in net vs. UW-River Falls. She made a career-high 22 saves in the 4-1 loss.

Amanda DiNella (So., Oakbrook Terrace, Ill.) ranks among the top goaltenders in the MIAC. Her 1.24 goals against average is second best and her .939 save percentage ranks third best in the conference.

Kaitlyn Klein (Jr., Plymouth, Minn.) leads the Gusties in scoring with five goals and one assist on the season. She also leads Gustavus with two power play tallies and 46 shots on goal.
