Volleyball Bounces Back With 3-1 Win At St. Thomas

The Gustavus volleyball team earned a bounce-back victory Saturday at St. Thomas, defeating the Tommies in four sets, 25-20, 25-23, 21-25, 25-18, improving to 13-3 overall and 4-1 in the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.

Women’s Cross Country Runs To Seventh Place Finish At Carleton

The Gustavus women’s cross country team took seventh place out of 15 teams Saturday at Carleton's Running of the Cows, scoring 210 points. The host Carleton College took first, Loras College placed second, and Cornell College came in third.

Football Drops Homecoming Game 46-21 To Concordia

Playing from behind the entire game, the Gustavus football team kept the score close through three quarters Saturday afternoon at Hollingsworth Field, but the Cobbers widened the gap in the fourth quarter with three unanswered touchdowns to secure a 46-21 victory on Gustavus’s Homecoming. The loss drops the Gusties to 3-2 overall and 1-2 in the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, while the Cobbers improve to 3-1 overall and 2-0 in the league.

Men’s Cross Country Places Second At Running Of The Cows

The Gustavus men’s cross country team took second place out of 14 teams Saturday at Carleton's Running of the Cows, scoring 128 points. Loras College averaged a time of 26:11.7 and totaled 42 points to take first place.

A year ago, the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference women's soccer preseason coaches' poll pegged Gustavus Adolphus College to finish 11th in the 12-team league. To everyone's surprise, except maybe their own, the Gusties earned a second place finish, just one point behind conference champ St. Thomas. GAC then emerged as the league's Playoff champions and secured the school's first NCAA berth since 1996.
