Men’s And Women’s Golf Conclude Fall Campaign At MIAC Championships

The Gustavus men's and women’s golf teams are traveling to Coon Rapids, Minn. this weekend to compete in the 2016 Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championships held Saturday, Oct. 9 through Monday, Oct. 10 at Bunker Hills Golf Course.

Volleyball Suffers 3-1 Setback At UW-Stout

The Gustavus volleyball team suffered a 3-1 setback at the University of Wisconsin-Stout on Tuesday, falling to 13-4 overall. The Gusties lost by set scores of 25-23, 25-18, 18-25, 25-16.

Holtan, Knobbe Named September Student-Athletes-Of-The-Month

Sophomore volleyball player Nora Holtan (Rochester, Minn.) and senior men’s cross country runner Thomas Knobbe (Decorah, Iowa) have been selected as the Gustavus Adolphus College September Female and Male Student-Athletes-of-the-Month, presented by Thrivent Financial and voted on by the Gustavus Sports Information Department.

Gustavus Athletics Raffle Ticket Winners Announced

The Gustavus Athletics Department conducted its fall raffle Saturday and the winners have been drawn. Thanks to all the Gustie family, friends, parents, and alums who participated in the raffle - Gustavus Athletics appreciates the support. Winners will receive their Visa gift card in the postal mail, which will be sent out this week. Congratulations to the following winners:

Women’s Basketball Participates In WBCA Day Of Service

Last Wednesday the Gustavus women’s basketball team participated in the inaugural Women’s Basketball Coaches Association Day of Service by volunteering at Mankato’s Emergency Community Help Organization (ECHO) Food Shelf. Student-athletes and the Gustavus coaching staff sorted food, cleaned a large walk-in freezer, and stocked shelves.

All-Gustie Singles Final Caps Off ITA Men’s Tennis Midwest Regional

The Gustavus men's tennis team hosted the 2016 ITA Midwest Regional and Midwest Open tournaments from Friday through Monday. The Gustie's own Mohanad Alhouni (Jr., Tripoli, Libya) was crowned the ITA singles champion after defeating his doubles teammate, Patrick Whaling (So., Manikob Sabot, Va.).

Matt Bateman Named MIAC Men’s Soccer Athlete Of The Week

Goalkeeper Matt Bateman (So., Savage, Minn.) and the Gustavus men's soccer team (3-7-1, 2-2-1, 7 points) posted two-straight 1-0 shutouts last week to gain valuable points in the MIAC standings. For the week, the sophomore logged 191:55 in goal with a total of 14 saves and no goals allowed, with a perfect 1.000 save percentage and a 0.00 goals against average. On Tuesday the Gusties defeated Saint Mary's 1-0 in double overtime as Bateman logged 101:55 in goal with seven saves and no goals allowed. Bateman followed that performance with another shutout in a 1-0 win over Carleton on Saturday as part of Gustavus's Homecoming celebration.

Holtan Earns Third MIAC Volleyball Setter Of The Week Award

Gustavus setter Nora Holtan (So., Rochester, Minn.) had another stellar week to earn her third MIAC Volleyball Setter/Libero-of-the-Week award in the season's first five weeks. The sophomore, who also won the honor on Sept. 12 and 19, had 100 assists (12.5 per set), 28 digs, 17 kills and three aces as the Gusties (13-3, 4-1 MIAC) went 1-1 against two of the conference's top teams. Thursday Holtan had 52 assists, 12 digs, seven kills and two aces in a 3-1 loss to Augsburg, then led her team to a 3-1 win over St. Thomas Saturday with a triple-double of 48 assists, 16 digs, 10 kills and an ace.

Wilson’s Late Goal Leads Men’s Soccer To Homecoming Victory

Alex Wilson (Jr., Ashland, Wis.) scored the game-winning goal with under ten minutes remaining in the game to lead the Gustavus men's soccer team to a 1-0 victory over Carleton College Saturday afternoon at Gustie Soccer Field.
