Men’s Basketball Travels To Macalester Saturday

The Gustavus men’s basketball team is set for its first Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference road game as it travels to Macalester for a 3 p.m. tipoff Saturday. The Gusties enter the contest with a 1-2 overall record and 1-0 mark in the MIAC, while the Scots are 4-2 overall and 0-1 in the league. Gustavus most recently defeated Concordia 92-75 Wednesday in its home opener, while Macalester most recently lost to No. 12 St. Thomas 72-61 Wednesday in St. Paul.

The Gustavus Adolphus College women’s basketball team continues Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play Saturday afternoon, traveling to St. Paul, Minn. to take on Macalester College. The 6-0 Gusties are set to tip off against the 4-2 Scots at 1 p.m.

Early Lead Erased As Men’s Hockey Loses 3-1 At Saint John’s

The Gustavus men’s hockey team struck first Thursday night against Saint John’s for a 1-0 lead in the second period, but three unanswered goals resulted in a 3-1 Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference loss. The Gusties drop to 1-7-1 overall and 0-5 in the MIAC, while the Johnnies improve to 6-4-1 overall and 3-2-0 in the league.

Men’s Hockey Back In Action Tonight At Saint John’s

The Gustavus men’s hockey team enters its third Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference series of the season as it takes on the Saint John’s Johnnies in an away-home series Thursday and Saturday. The Gusties enter this weekend’s series with a 1-6-1 overall record (0-4 MIAC) after facing No. 10 Augsburg last weekend - the Gusties fell to the Auggies 3-0 in Minneapolis, followed by a close 2-1 loss in St. Peter. The Johnnies enter with a 5-4-1 overall record (2-2 MIAC) after dropping a 5-4 decision to Marian University, followed by a 6-1 win over Lawrence University. Both games were played at the Herb Brooks National Hockey Center last weekend.

Miller, Sonnek Named November Student-Athletes-Of-The-Month

Gustavus Junior Women’s Basketball Guard Mikayla Miller (Goodhue, Minn.) and Sophomore Swimmer Tanner Sonnek (North Mankato, Minn.) have been selected as the Gustavus Adolphus College November Female and Male Student-Athletes-of-the-Month, presented by Thrivent Financial and voted on by the Gustavus Sports Information Department.

Baseball Field Renovation Project To Break Ground In 2017

Gustavus Adolphus College is beginning a complete renovation of the baseball facility, Athletics Director Tom Brown announced today. The $1.5 million project, which is completely donor funded, will begin immediately following the 2017 baseball season.
