CLAYTON, Ind. – The Gustavus women’s golf team took 10th place out of 14 teams at the Dan Quayle Collegiate Classic on Sunday, carding a two-round total of 657 (+81). The Gusties shot a 332 on Saturday and a 325 on Sunday. Indiana Tech won the event with a 618, Wittenberg took second one stroke behind, and host DePauw placed third with a 632.

“Better day for a team score, but we are still lacking a fourth score,” Head Coach Scott Moe said. “Nice round for Mae today. We are looking forward to our next event in Hastings. We are getting closer.”

Mae Meierhenry led the Gusties with a 14th place finish, scoring an 82 yesterday and improving to a 77 in the second round for a total of 159 (+15). Jessica Nelson was one stroke behind Meierhenry, shooting a 79-81-160. Kristen Cash took 24th place with an 83-80-163, while Abbie Grevlos and McKenzie Swenson finished with identical scores of 177, tying for 61st place.

Jane Hopkinson-Wood of Wittenberg earned medalist honors with a score of 70-73-143.

Gustavus returns to the links next Saturday and Sunday as it competes in the Carleton Invite in Hastings, Minn.
