ST. PETER, Minn. – The Gustavus women’s soccer team opens a two-match week as they travel to the University of Wisconsin-River Falls Wednesday at 5 p.m. Friday, Gustavus hosts Crown College at 4 p.m. at Gustie Soccer Field.
The Black and Gold sit at 2-0 overall as they began the season with two shutout victories over Nebraska Wesleyan University and the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse.
In the season opener at Nebraska Wesleyan, the Gusties sealed a 3-0 shutout. Josie Mazzone (Jr., Rapid City, S.D.) earned the game-winner which was also her first collegiate goal.
Gustavus took down UW-La Crosse 1-0 for their second consecutive shutout during their home opener. Ashley Becker (So., Farmington, Minn.) tied a career-high with nine saves and recorded her 13th career shutout.
