ST. PETER, Minn. – The Gustavus Adolphus College men’s and women’s track and field teams will each compete in the Point Loma Nazarene University Invitational held in San Diego this Saturday. Approximately 20 Gusties will make the trip west to compete in the spring break meet.
Saturday’s meet is the ninth annual Point Loma Collegiate Invitational. The meet begins at 9 a.m. (PST) with the men’s hammer, women’s javelin and the men’s long jump. Track events begin at noon (PST).
The Gusties are coming off an indoor season highlighted by NCAA Championship appearances from Sarah Swanson (Sr., Fairbanks, Alaska) and Sam Fischer (Sr., Sauk Centre, Minn.). Swanson placed 17th in the shot put at the national meet, while Fischer took 15th in the weight throw.
