Jake Douglas Named To D3football.com Team Of The Week, Football Moves Up To No. 20 In AFCA Poll

A day after being named MIAC Offensive Player-of-the-Week, Jake Douglas garnered national recognition as a member of the D3football.com Team of the Week. Douglas was the top tight end in NCAA Divison III football last week as he caught nine passes for 172 yards and three touchdowns in the Gusties’ 58-34 win over St. Olaf.

Nora Holtan Named MIAC Setter-Of-The-Week

The Gustavus volleyball team continued its remarkable run, going 4-0 last week to run its winning streak to 18 in a row. First-year setter Nora Holtan (Rochester, Minn./Mayo) has been a key contributor throughout the streak, and starred last week with 162 assists - 11.57 per set - in addition to 17 kills, 33 digs, four aces and five total blocks. For her performance, the MIAC sports information directors honored Holtan Monday with the MIAC Volleyball Setter/Libero-of-the-Week award.

The Gustavus offense continued its phenomenal season in Saturday's 58-34 win over St. Olaf, to help the Gusties remain undefeated in 2015. The breakout star of the team's latest victory was senior Jake Douglas (Montevideo, Minn.), whose three touchdowns and 172 receiving yards resulted in the best single-game performance by a Gustavus tight end in more than three decades. For his performance, the MIAC sports information directors honored Douglas Monday with the MIAC Football Offensive Player-of-the-Week award.

Women’s Soccer Holds First Annual ‘Run For Kicks’ 5K On Saturday

The Gustavus Adolphus College women’s soccer team is excited to announce its first annual “Run for Kicks” 5K run/walk. The race is held at 10 a.m., Oct. 17 on the beautiful Gustavus campus. The team hosts Bethel College at 3:30 p.m. that same day.

Women’s Soccer Takes Conference Lead, Beats Augsburg 2-1

The Gustavus women’s soccer team claimed a key league win Saturday afternoon as it defeated Augsburg 2-1 in a battle of the top two teams in the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. The Gusties improve to 7-4-1 overall and 5-1-0 in the MIAC with 15 points, which is good for sole possession of first place in the conference standings.

Men’s Soccer Ties Augsburg 1-1

After tying Macalester College 1-1 this past Tuesday, the Gustavus Adolphus men's soccer team earned its second straight tie when it came to a 1-1 draw with Augsburg on Saturday at the Gustie Soccer Field. The tie brings the Gusties' record to 5-3-3 overall and 0-3-3 in the MIAC, while Augsburg moves to 4-6-2 overall and 2-2-1 in the MIAC.

Volleyball Beats UW-Superior In Straight Sets, Win Streak Improves To 18

The Gustavus volleyball team won its 18th consecutive match Saturday afternoon at Gus Young Court, defeating the University of Wisconsin-Superior in straight sets 25-15, 25-20 and 25-14. The non-conference win improves the Gusties' overall record to 18-2.

Football Cruises Past St. Olaf 58-34, Hendricks Breaks Career Passing Touchdowns Record

The No. 23-ranked Gustavus football team cruised to a 58-34 win over St. Olaf College on Saturday afternoon and in the process quarterback Mitch Hendricks became the program’s all-time leader in passing touchdowns. Hendricks threw five touchdowns on the day to increase his career total to 67, passing the previous record of 65 set by Jordan Stolp (2004-07).

Volleyball Tops Carleton In Straight Sets

The Gustavus volleyball team continued its winning ways Friday night as it claimed its 17th straight victory, defeating Carleton College in straight sets 25-23, 25-23 and 25-13. The Gusties improve to 17-2 overall and 6-0 in the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.

Women’s Soccer Hosts Augsburg Saturday, Conference Lead On The Line

After posting a decisive 6-0 shutout victory over Bethany Lutheran on Wednesday, the Gustavus women’s soccer team returns to Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play at 3:30 p.m. Saturday as it hosts Augsburg College at the Gustie Soccer Field. Gustavus enters Saturday’s match with a 6-4-1 overall record and 4-1-0 mark in the MIAC, while the Auggies are 9-2-0 overall and 4-1-0 in league play. Both teams lead the conference with 12 points.
