Men’s Golf To Host Twin Cities Classic In Final Meet Before MIAC Championships Posted on September 24th, 2015 by

Andrew Krasaway will help lead the Gusties at the Twin Cities Classic this weekend.

ST. PETER, Minn. – The Gustavus Adolphus men’s golf team will compete in the three-day Twin Cities classic being played Saturday-Monday at courses around the metro. Saturday’s round will begin at 11:30 a.m. at The Links at Northfork in Ramsey, Minnesota, Sunday’s round will begin at 10:30 a.m. at Elk River Country Club in Elk River, Minnesota, and Monday’s shotgun start will begin at 8:30 a.m. at the Ridges at Sand Creek in Jordan, Minnesota. Eighteen teams from Minnesota, Iowa, Wisconsin, Nebraska, and Winnepeg, Canada will compete in the tournament.

The Gusties are coming off a fourth place finish at the 20-team Saint John’s Invitational this past weekend. Chris Captain (So., Rochester, Minn.) led Gustavus for the tournament, finishing with a six-over 152 to finish tied for 15th. Alec Aunan (So., Rock Island, Ill.) was right behind him, finishing with a 153 after shaving five strokes off his first day score of 79 to tally a 74 on day two, and Andrew Krasaway (Sr., Hermantown, Minn.) tied with Aunan by scoring a 153 to give the pair a tie for 18th in the individual standings.

The University of St. Thomas heads into the weekend looking to defend its 2014 Twin Cities Classic title after winning with a three-day team score of 888. The Tommies’ Alex Kapraun was last year’s individual medalist after firing a one-over 217.

The Links at Northfork is a par 72 at 6,982 yards, the Elk River Country Club is a par 72 at 6,570 yards, and the Ridges at Sand Creek is a par 72 at 6,961 yards.
