CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. – Gustavus Adolphus women’s golfers Jordy Drenttel (Inver Grove Heights, Minn.) and Mae Meierhenry (Sioux Falls, S.D.) were recently honored by the Women’s Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) as All-American Scholars. A total of 758 women’s collegiate golfers nationwide were recognized with the honor that goes to individuals with a GPA of at least 3.5 on a 4.0 scale.
Drenttel, who graduated from Gustavus in May, was the Gusties’ top individual golfer this past season, as she led the team with a stroke average of 80.8 and placed within the top-5 at meets four separate times. Meierhenry, a rising junior, was third on the team with a stroke average of 81.5 and had Gustavus’ lowest round of the season when she recorded a 72 at the Georgianni Memorial Invitational in Eau Claire, Wisonsin.
“It was another great year for Jordy and Mae,” said head coach Scott Moe. “I know how much they value the combination of academics and athletic success, and they continue to take it to another level. This prestigious honor shows their level of commitment, which sets an incredible example for everyone else. Our team had a fantastic year, as they achieved above a 3.55 cumulative GPA for 14 players, which we are very proud of, and we’re excited to continue to represent Gustavus both on the course and in the classroom.”
