Women’s Hockey Remains At No. 5 In USCHO and D3hockey Polls Posted on December 16th, 2014 by

ST. PETER, MINN. – Following a week in which it won games over No. 6 UW-River Falls and No. 7 UW-Stevens Point, the Gustavus Adolphus women’s hockey team remained at No. 5 in the most recent USCHO.com and D3hockey.com Division III Women’s Polls that were released Monday.

On Friday, Gustavus traveled to River Falls, Wisconsin and defeated UW-River Falls 3-2. The Falcons held leads of 1-0 and 2-1, but the Gusties managed to comeback from each deficit to secure the victory. Saturday, at Don Roberts Ice Rink, Gustavus found itself in a 1-0 hole less than a minute into its game with UW-Stevens Point, but held the Pointers scoreless for the remainder of the game and scored three third period goals to take away a 3-1 victory. Allison Eder-Zdechlik (Jr., Stillwater, Minn.) led the Gusties on the week with two goals in each game to bring her season total to six, which leads the team.

Gustavus will not play its next game until Jan. 9 when it will take on No. 9 Adrian College. That game will take place at Don Roberts Ice Rink, with faceoff set for 5 p.m.
