Gustavus:
UW-River Falls came out firing and outshot Gustavus 9-3 in the first half of Wednesday’s match. However, the Gustie defense kept the Falcons out of the goal for the first 45 minutes and beyond. But the Falcon’s Nina Abrahamson found the goal at the 47:53 mark on an assist from Abby Soderholm and Alex Swatloski and it proved to be enough to clinch the victory for the home team. While there was no more scoring, UW-River Falls dominated the remainder of the half and outshot Gustavus 14-2 in the second half, which brought the total to 23-5 on the match.

St. Thomas: No. 13-ranked Concordia kept their unbeaten streak intact as they defeated the Tommies 1-0 on Wednesday. Concordia controlled the match for large chunks of time and held a decided 10-3 edge in shots in the first half of play, including a 25-yard strike from Cobber captain Libie Fransdal that ended up being the clinching point in the low scoring affair.

Saturday’s contest marks the 34th meeting between Gustavus and St. Thomas in women’s soccer.
