St. Peter, Minn. – The Gustavus Adolphus men’s soccer team will kick off its Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference schedule with a match against Carleton College on Wednesday, Sept. 17 at 4:00 p.m. on the Gustie Soccer Field. After earning a pair of victories over non-conference opponents St. Scholastica 3-0 and UW-Oshkosh 1-0 in double-overtime last weekend, the Gusties enter MIAC play with an overall record of 6-2-0.  Carleton enters Wednesday’s contest with an overall record of 2-3-0 after falling to St. Scholastica 2-0 in its last time out on Wednesday, Sept. 10 in Northfield.

“This should be an excellent game, and an enticing feast for the fans,” said Head Coach Mike Middleton.  “They have not played the non-conference schedule that we have, so we’ll have to see if its better to be battle-hardened or not.  Carleton has been one of the most successful teams in the region over the last few years, developing a style that is hard to break down and quick to counter-attack. This should be a fun match.”
