Men’s Soccer Back At Home To Face Martin Luther Posted on September 10th, 2014 by

St. Peter, Minn. – The Gustavus Adolphus men’s soccer team returns to Minnesota for a non-conference match against Martin Luther College set for 5:00 p.m. on the Gustie Soccer Field.  After defeating Pacific Lutheran University 3-0 on Friday and falling to the University of Puget Sound 3-2 on Sunday during their trip to the Pacific Northwest, the Gusties begin a new week with an overall record of 3-2-0.  Martin Luther has been on field just twice this season and is 0-2-0 after a loss to Wisconsin Lutheran (5-0) and most recently a loss to Buena Vista University (2-1) on Thursday in New Ulm.

“Wednesday’s game should be fun,” said Head Coach Mike Middleton.  “It’s always nice to play our local teams and not have to travel long distances.  These games are vital to us and we have developed a friendly rapport with Martin Luther.  The coach really works hard with his players and is developing a nice program. I’m a big supporter of his.”
