Ham Lake, Minn. – The Gustavus Adolphus men’s golf team sits in 10th place with a team score of 307 following the opening day of the Augsburg College Invitational being held this weekend at Majestic Oaks Golf Club. The University of Manitoba leads the way with a 289, Concordia College sits in second with a 296, and Bethel University rounds out the top three in third with a 299.

“Although it wasn’t the start we wanted, I believe we’re poised for a good bounce-back day tomorrow,” said Head Coach Scott Moe. “We played tight under tournament conditions when what we should have been doing is swinging freely and playing comfortable.”

Leading Gustavus on day one was Chris Captain (Fr., Rochester, Minn.) and Andrew Brandt (Jr., Medina, Minn.). Captain shot a 74, while Brandt fired a 75.

Sunday’s final round of player will begin with a shotgun start at 8:00 a.m.
