Women’s Golf In Eighth Following Day One Of Georgianni Memorial

Eau Claire, Wis. – The Gustavus Adolphus women’s golf team sits in a tie for eighth place with a team score of 335 (+43) following day one of the Georgianni Memorial Invite held Saturday at the Wild Ridge Golf Course. Bethel University leads the 15-team field with a 315 (_23), Carleton College sits in second with a 318 (+26), and UW-Stout rounds out the top three in third with a 319 (+27).

Pacing Gustavus on day one was senior Jordan Drenttel (Eagan, Minnn.) who shot a three-over-par 76 for a third place standing. Liz Strom (Sr., Fargo, N.D.) and Mae Meierhenry (So., Sioux Falls, S.D.) both turned in a score of 85 (+12) and now sit in 37the heading into tomorrow.

Bethel’s Leah Swanson leads the pack with a one-under 72, and Rochelle Beardsley of Wartburg sits in second with a 73 (E) to round out the top three.

The 2014 Georgianni Memorial Invite will conclude tomorrow at the Mill Run Golf Course. The players are expected to hit the course at 8:30 a.m
