Title At Stake, Women’s Hockey Meets St. Thomas In MIAC Playoff Championship Posted on March 7th, 2014 by

St. Peter, Minn. – The Gustavus Adolphus women’s hockey team is set to travel to Mendota Heights, Minn., to take on the University of St. Thomas in the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) Playoff Championship Game on Saturday afternoon at the St. Thomas Ice Arena.  Saturday’s contest is set to begin at 2:00 p.m.

Second-seeded Gustavus enters the weekend with a record of 17-7-2 overall, while top-seeded St. Thomas comes in with a record of 18-5-3 on the year.  The Tommies will look to knock the Gusties from the post season throne after Gustavus has won each of the last 10 MIAC Playoff titles.

In the 15-year history of the MIAC Playoffs, Gustavus has appeared in each championship game, while St. Thomas has played in seven, all of which have come against the Gusties.  In those games, Gustavus has won six of the seven meetings.
