Women’s Hockey Drops To No. 8 In USCHO.com Poll Posted on February 24th, 2014 by

St. Peter, Minn. – Following a split with Bethel in its final regular season series last weekend, the Gustavus Adolphus women’s hockey team dropped to No. 8 in the latest USCHO.com Division III Women’s Hockey Poll, which was released Monday.

Plattsburgh State heads the poll once again this week.  The Cardinals have spent all but one week at No. 1 thanks to a 23-1-1 record.  Elmira is second with a 20-4-1 record, while Norwich ranks third as the final team in the poll to reach the 20-win plateau with a record of 23-3-0.

Ranked seventh in last week’s poll, the Gusties fall behind conference-champion St. Thomas, who sits seventh in this week’s top ten.  Bethel enters the rankings for the first time this season as a third member of the MIAC to crack the top ten.  The Royals enter the poll at No. 10, replacing Amherst.

Gustavus and Bethel will meet this weekend in St. Peter in the semifinal round of the MIAC Playoffs.  That game is set for a 2:00 p.m., opening face off at Don Roberts Ice Rink.
